Pseudo-selector created by Gestalt.Appl starting with version 2.5. It replaces ‘Freq’ pseudo-selector from version 2.1.7.
Starting with Gestalt.Appl version 2.6.5, this pseudo-selector displays the same value as ‘pclk’ selector if present (this selector is posted by System and is more reliable).
Returns the number of iterations of 680x0 DBRA instruction per millisecond, from which processor frequency is estimated if ‘pclk’ is not present. A calculation is made for every type of processor.
In global interpretation field, displays 0 if Gestalt.Appl does not know the type of processor, and a likely erroneous value on non-standard configurations (acceleration cards, non-Macintosh machines, etc.).
